Commissioned just in time for Christmas 2013 a Biotech 25kW biomass heating system will ensure a warm house for all this Christmas.
The heating system was installed into a spacious traditional cottage outside Drem in East Lothian to replace an existing all electric system, a comprehensive heat loss survey carried out by Lothian Renewables suggested a heat loss of just over 24kW. The system comprises of a Biotech MBW 25kW manual fed boiler, 800l buffer vessel and included the installation of a new 12 radiator heating circuit and new 300l hot water cylinder together with heating controls. The inclusion of the buffer maximizes the boiler efficiency with reduced ware and also results in instant heating of the radiator circuit.
The installation will be eligible to register on the 1st April 2014 for the RHIand will receive quarterly payments for 7 years and also benefit the customer by way of reduced energy bills.
