Northlight Dunbar, a creative arts season in the landscape of Dunbar running this Aug turned to Lothian Renewables when they had a requirement for mains electricity to run a “mini cinema” at Dunbar harbour.
After discussions with the organisers regarding their power requirements a system was deseigned utilising a 225w Schott PV panel, connected via a charge controller to a gel battery; a 500w inverter providing the ac power for the cinema.
As the sun sets on the 21p tariff this installation will be remembered as both the smallest system installed by Lothian Renewables and also the first off grid. At the end of the arts event the equipment will be removed and installed in our office to run our IT equipment.
