In June this year the Energy Saving Scotland home renewables loan scheme for Scottish homeowners received a £5M boost from the Scottish Government.
In addition, and as part of the announcement, from today 1st August 2012 the interest free loans for renewable heating systems have increased to a maximum of £10,000 under the home renewables loan scheme.
Interest free loans for renewable electricity systems remain at a maximum of £2,000 under the home renewables loan scheme but homeowners should also contact their local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre on 0800 512 012 to ask if there are any other financial incentives available under local area based schemes.

The updated application form went live this morning and can be found here: http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland/Generate-your-own-energy/Make-money-from-home-renewables/Home-renewables-loan-scheme
Note that customers interested in renewable heating systems can combine both the Scottish Government interest free home renewables loan and the UK Government’s RHPP2 grant (also available via EST) so long as funding from both does not exceed 100% of the cost of the system. Customers interested in renewable electricity systems can apply for both the interest free home renewables loan and FITs.
